GÅSÖ SOMMARHUS
The cottage is sited at the highest point of the island, shaped by the topography of the rocky outcrops. The placement takes advantage of views in multiple directions while remaining in dialogue with the landscape.
The colour palette is inspired by the lichen covering the surrounding rocks: muted, earthy tones that allow the building to settle into its setting. Simple and durable materials have been chosen to suit the exposed location and the rhythms of seasonal use.
The project seeks a balance between presence and restraint: a building that is clearly there, but does not impose itself on the landscape it inhabits.
