Our philosophy

Kind architecture is not a style, but an approach.

We believe that care for the smallest details can shape how an entire environment is experienced and used. For us, that means creating environments that are welcoming, considered and durable over time. It means taking account of the people who use a place, but equally of its surroundings, materials and conditions. Being kind holds both care and precision.

Who we are

SNÄLL arkitekter is a cross-disciplinary practice based in Stockholm, founded by Anastasia Bos and Lycke Förell Drake in 2024. The practice grew out of a wish to explore what architecture is and can be.

We move between architecture, art, culture and education. Our projects range from building permits, interiors and renovations to exhibitions, workshops and self-initiated projects. We have collaborated with, among others, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern and the City of Stockholm's district administration, lectured at KTH and SLU, and served as guest critics at KTH.

Both hold degrees in architecture from the KTH School of Architecture. Anastasia has previously worked as an architect in Austria and studied urbanism at the Technische Universität München. Lycke has worked at White Arkitekter and studied interior architecture at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Our work

Our work takes its starting point in each site, its conditions and the people who will use it. Rather than starting from a given form, we examine the context and let the project grow from there. We develop our projects in dialogue with clients, collaborators and other stakeholders, letting different perspectives be part of the process.

We work with both the existing and the new, and see transformation, renovation and addition as being just as natural a part of architecture as new build. By working from the whole down to the detail, we seek solutions that are clear in their idea, careful in their execution and durable over time.
