Our philosophy

SNÄLL is a Swedish word for kind. For us, SNÄLL architecture is not a style, but a way of working and thinking.

We believe that attention to the smallest details can shape how an environment is experienced and used as a whole. We aim to create spaces that feel welcoming, considered and made to last. This means paying attention to the people who use a site, as well as its surroundings, materials and specific conditions. For us, being SNÄLL means combining care with precision.

Who we are

SNÄLL arkitekter is a cross-disciplinary practice based in Stockholm, founded by Anastasia Bos and Lycke Förell Drake in 2024. We work across architecture, art, culture and education, with a shared interest in exploring the many ways architecture can take shape.

Our projects range from planning applications, interiors and alterations to exhibitions, workshops and self-initiated projects. We have collaborated with Kulturhuset Stadsteatern and Stockholm City District Administration, lectured at KTH and SLU, and participated as guest critics at KTH.

Anastasia and Lycke both studied architecture at KTH School of Architecture. Anastasia has previously worked as an architect in Austria and studied urbanism at the Technical University of Munich. Lycke has worked at White Arkitekter and also studied interior architecture at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Our work

Every project starts with the site, its specific conditions and the people who will use it. Rather than imposing a predetermined form, we look closely at the context and let the project develop from there. We work closely with clients, collaborators and other stakeholders, bringing different perspectives into the process.

We work with both existing buildings and new construction, and see transformation, alteration and addition as integral parts of architecture. By moving between the larger picture and the smallest detail, we look for solutions that are clear in concept, thoughtful in execution and designed to last.
